Exercise Tips for Busy People

Introduction

Hey everyone, I’m so glad you decided to swing by my blog today. Because, today, we’re going to chat about something that we all struggle with – finding time to exercise in our super-busy days. Trust me, I get it. With juggling work, family, hobbies, and attempting to have some semblance of a social life, it feels like there just aren’t enough hours in the day! But fear not, I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I think will help you out. So, grab your coffee, settle in, and let’s get moving!

Make Morning Time, Your Time

Here’s a little secret of mine. I’m not naturally a morning person. At all. The struggle is real, my friends. But after reading the study by Appalachian State University that morning exercises improve your quality of sleep, I’ve forced myself into becoming a morning exerciser. It’s a game-changer. An early, quick jog or a few sun salutations before the daily rush can give you that energy kick-start to the day. Plus, you’ve checked that big ‘exercise’ box off your to-do list.

Utilize Your Commute

The commute. The bane of our existence, right? What if I told you, your commute could be an opportunity for exercise? Now don’t roll your eyes at me yet. Hear me out. Depending on how far you live from work, consider biking or walking. The British Journal of Sports Medicine mentioned that active commuting burns calories and decreases BMI and body fat. So, maybe it’s time to dust off that old bicycle, eh?

Be a Multi-tasker

At this point in the post, I’ll tell you a funny truth. I’m writing this paragraph while riding my stationary bike. Astonishingly, I do some of my best thinking while pedaling away, not to mention mopping the floor! Don’t believe me? Try it! Even Harvard Medical School agrees that regular aerobic exercise appears to boost the size of the hippocampus, the brain area involved in verbal memory and learning!

Conclusion

So there you have it, folks- my three staples tricks for fitting exercise into a busy schedule. Believe me, if I can do it, you can too. It’s all about uncovering those hidden pockets of time in our day. It may mean waking up a bit earlier or multi-tasking a touch more, but your body will thank you for it. Plus, I think you’ll find that exercise helps more than just your physical health. It’s a terrific mood-booster and stress-reliever. But hey, that’s a topic for another blog post! So until next time, keep moving!
